Auditions at The Weekend Theater for our Fall Shows
The Weekend Theater, 7th & Chester in downtown Little
Rock, has set auditions for three of our fall shows at 10 a.m. on Saturday,
July 18th and at 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 19th .
Auditions will consist of reading from the scripts. You do not have to prepare anything
prior to the audition. Scripts will not be available prior to auditions. Those auditioning
should be prepared to stay approximately three hours and you need only attend one of the
auditions.
** Our Town , which chronicles the daily life of close knit families and reveals
the universal truths that connect us all, written by Thornton Wilder, has parts for 17
males and 7 females, along with several extras. All actors 18 and over will be considered.
It will rehearse August 15th through September 10th with performances on September 11-26.
Directed by Jamie Scott Blakey.
** In A Dark, Dark House , a puzzle play concerning repressed memories of
childhood sexual abuse, written by Neil LaBute, will rehearse October 10th through
November 5th with performances November 6-21. Two males who can play ages mid-to-late 30s
and one older teenage female will be needed. Directed by Duane Jackson.
** The Last White Class , about an African American family in a white
neighborhood during the introduction of bussing in Boston, written by Marge Piercy and Ira
Wood, rehearses November 7th through December 3rd with performances December 4-19. Several
teenagers and adults, including five white males, three white females, two black males and
two black females will be needed. Directed by Ralph Hyman.
