Current Volunteer Opportunities:

FOR EACH PERFORMANCE:

House Manager (1)
Arrives at least 15 minutes before the theater opens to patrons to get the lobby, restrooms & house ready before every show. Greets patrons, answers questions; opens the house 30min before curtain. Opens doors after intermission; straightens up after the performance. Works with TWT’s House Manager/IB Coordinator.

Box Office (1)
Arrives at least 15 minutes before the theater opens to patrons. Checks in patrons against reservations and Flexpass holder lists.; takes cash, credit, checks and reconciles cash bank and ticket sales after the performance. Works with TWT’s Box Office Coordinator.

Intermission Bar (1)
Arrives at least 15 minutes before the theater opens to patrons. Sells beer, wine, snacks before the show begins and at intermission; takes cash, credit, checks and reconciles cash bank and sales after the performance. Works with TWT’s House Manager/IB Coordinator. MUST BE 21 OR OLDER.

Curtain times are Friday & Saturday nights at 7:30pm with the occasional Thursday show added and Sundays (musicals only) at 2:30pm for musicals only.  The theater opens 1 hr prior to Curtain Time.

FOR EACH AUDITION:

Audition Helpers (2-3)

Needed for 1-2hrs every 2-4 months when auditions take place. Arrives at least 30 minutes before auditions are scheduled to help set up. Each volunteer does something different: Welcomes auditioners and answers questions, makes copies, takes photos, etc., and helps straighten up afterwards. Works with TWT’s Auditions Coordinator.

FOR EACH PRODUCTION:

Stage Manager (1)

Works with the show Director and Producer and keeps the production on track, doing everything from coordinating early rehearsal schedules to helping actors run lines to moving set pieces during the run. Some experience a plus!

Producer (1)

Works with the show Director and Stage Manager to help put all the pre-production pieces together, like helping find the crew, watches the budget during the run, and takes care of other important things as needed. Some experience a plus!

Director (1)

Works with TWT’s Executive Director and runs the show from start to finish. It’s a big job! Some experience required.

Music Director (1)

Works with the show Director to coordinate everything related to the music in the production. Also a big job. Some experience required.

Lighting (1)

Works with TWT’s Resident Lighting Designer and/or Resident Technical Director in any number of ways. Maybe does the Lighting Design for a show! Some experience required.

Sound (1)

Works with TWT’s Resident Sound Designer and/or Resident Technical Director in any number of ways. Maybe does the Sound Design for a show! Some experience required.

Tech Crew (1-3)

Works with the show’s Lighting Designer and Sound Designer and Set Designer make theater magic. Some experience a plus.

Set (1-3)

Helps the Set Designer construct and paint the set. Must be handy with basic hand tools. Some experience with power tools and loving the smell of fresh sawdust a plus.

Props (1-2)

Helps TWT’s Resident Props Mistresses find free or inexpensive props for the show. Or even helps TWT’s Resident Props Designer create them from scratch!

Costumes (1-2)

Helps find fabulous costumes for the show. We love Savers and Goodwill, but many great costumes can be found in a closet for free!

THROUGHOUT THE SEASON:

Lots of volunteers needed for each production and for various special events and activities…

Photography

Takes photos for use in marketing and communications. Just need a camera and a good eye! Works with TWT’s Resident Photographer.

Fundraising / Special Events / Community Outreach

Helps plan, coordinate, put on and wrap up all kinds of events! For example, we might need help setting up and working a booth at the Central Arkansas Pride Festival. Or when we hold a fundraising event, we need help setting up, serving, and cleaning up. Works with TWT’s Volunteer Coordinator

Marketing / Public Relations

Helps get the word out about all kinds of things! For example, each production and special event needs a Press Release written and show flyers distributed throughout Little Rock. We also reach out to the TV and radio stations and potential partners for marketing support. Works with TWT’s Marketing & PR Coordinator, Display Marketing Coordinator, and Social Media Coordinator.
